Fernando Távora

Fernando Luís Cardoso de Meneses Tavares e Távora ( born August 25, 1923 in Porto, Portugal, † September 3, 2005, Matosinhos, Portugal) was a Portuguese architect and is considered one of the founders of the School of Porto. He taught at the faculties of architecture in Porto and Coimbra. The most famous student Tavoras Álvaro Siza Vieira and Eduardo were Souto de Moura.

The University of Coimbra gave Távora an honorary doctorate.
