Field hockey at the 1976 Summer Olympics
In the XXI. Summer Olympic Games in Montreal in 1976 a competition was held in hockey. Venue was the Stade Percival Molson -. For the first time a world tournament was played on artificial turf.
Tournament mode
There were still only allowed 12 participants, rather than as in previous games 16 Qualifies were the two finalists of the last games, Germany and Pakistan, as well as host Canada. Furthermore, the winner of the Pan American Games in 1975 Argentina, African champions Kenya, Ozeanienvertreter New Zealand, European champion Spain and the Netherlands, and three other teams due to the placement in the World Cup 1975: India, Malaysia and Australia.
