Fight for This Love is a song by British singer Cheryl Cole from her debut album 3 Words. In the UK and Ireland the song on 16 October 2009 was coupled out of Coles record label Fascination Records as the first single of the album. In 2010, the song in the rest of Europe by Universal Music was released as the second single from the album.

Background
Fight for This Love is Cole's first solo single outside their girl group Girls Aloud. The song was written by Steve Kipner, Wayne Wilkins and Andre Merrit, a demo recording of the song was sung by Merrit.
The song is an uptempo R & B- pop track with synth pop and dance influences. The song is one of 123 beats per minute. Cheryl Cole's vocal range extends from E3 to D5. After the break down in the middle of the song some musical instruments are replaced by hand-clapping, some media reported that Cole's voice is quite similar to that of Whitney Houston. The magazine New Musical Express fell on similarities between Cole and Kelis ' Title Lil Star from 2007, but Cole dismissed all similarities. Meanwhile, other media reported Fight for This Love have the same chord progression as All My Life by K- Ci & JoJo. Fight for This Love was later covered by British boy band The Wanted and is included on the B-side to her number -one hit All Time Low. On the B-side of Fight for This Love Did not we find the Title I.
Criticism
From music critics Fight for This Love was mostly praised.
Ruth Harrison from Female First was impressed by the song and hoped that Cole would remain constantly solo and do not return to their girl group Girls Aloud. She said: " It sounds a little bit like Girls Aloud to, we love it and suspect that it will be a huge hit in the clubs. (...) We think that this song will make them on their way to global megastar. "
Popjustice praised the song as well, saying, "Fight For This Love is definitely not a Girls Aloud single with one person who sings the title ... it 's one of those songs that you can listen for several hours after the other and you will not boring. The director for music video led Ray Kay. It was filmed in early September 2009 in London.

The single was premiered at Chris Moyless ' breakfast show on 7 September 2009 on BBC Radio 1 on October 18, 2009, the title was released as a download in the UK. Cole sang the song on the same day during The X Factor Live Results Show for the first time live. She was wearing a military outfit during the performance of the Welsh fashion designer Julien MacDonald.
