Region

Filingue is a town and the capital of the eponymous department Filingue in Niger.

Geography

The embossed of Hausa architecture city is located in the Sahel region at Dallol Bosso Wadi. The urban area is in 19 districts, 29 administrative villages, nine traditional villages, 30 hamlets and a stock split. The 19 districts are Angoual Kara, Boukoki, Darayawa, extension Nouveau district, Garka, Goulzoulawa, Haoussaoua ( Filigué Haoussa ) Kourfayawa, Kourouk, Kris Kris, Makani Béri Béri, Makani Souleymane, Makanidareya, Nouveau district, Quartier Administratif, Sandawa, Toudou Arewa, Toudou Darayawa and Wanagar.

The neighboring municipalities are Banibangou the northwest, Abala the northeast, Kourfeye Centre in the east, Imanan in the southeast, southwest and Dingazi Tondikandia in the west.

History

During the military occupation of the Niger colony later the French taught in 1901 a military post in Filingue one. In colonial times Filingue was the chief town of the district Dallol Bosso skin. Until 1972 in Niger only the cities Niamey, Maradi, Tahoua and Zinder had the status of an independent parish. This year Filingue was collected simultaneously with six other locations Niger to the community.

Population
