Fink (singer)
Fink (born 1972 in Cornwall), actually Finian Paul Greenall, is an English singer-songwriter, DJ and record producer from Brighton. The name stands for the same time, led by Greenall Trio, with whom he goes on tour and in which his guitar playing and song by bassist Guy Whittaker (son of Roger Whittaker ) and drummer Tim Thornton is completed.
Biography
Finian Greenalls music career began with the instrument, which he has turned back since 2006, namely with the acoustic guitar. As a teenager he was first known in the English rave, electro and trip hop scene, however. In 1995 he brought in collaboration with Lee Jones from the band Hefner Extra Vehicular Activity at Kickin? Records out. This made the London independent label Ninja Tune attention to him, which took him to the sub label N- Tone under contract. There appeared under the pseudonym of the EPs Fink Fink Funk ( 1997) and Frontside Blunt Side ( 1998).
In 2001 he made his solo debut with the album Fresh Produce, which significantly quieter rhythm and blues tones struck and thereby deposed by the productions of other artists at Ninja Tune. This taken with little enthusiasm change of style pursued Greenall, however later on and devoted himself in the meantime, especially his dancefloor side project Sideshow with Simple Records. It was only in 2006, released by Ninja Tune album Biscuits For Breakfast solidified its based on a blues and on acoustic guitar play style and gave Fink at a wider audience hearing.
After Nitin Sawhney could hire him for a joint appearance at the BBC Festival Electric Proms, Fink inspired more and more for live performances: He participated in other festivals ( Big Chill, Fruit Stock, Bestival ) and toured as support for Zero 7 by UK. For bonobos album Days To Come ( 2006), he contributed the track If You Stayed Over; and Tim Bidwell of Hardkandy and Elliot Richards Heels Catch Fire in the same year he founded the record label Folklaw Records.
For Distance And Time, to be published on Ninja Tune on 1 October 2007 album, he won Andy Barlow of Lamb as producers. It was released as the first single in advance This Is The Thing. On June 13, 2011 was also released his latest album Perfect Darkness on Ninja Tune.
