Finland men's national floorball team

The Finnish National Floorball Finland presented at international matches and international tournaments in the sport of floorball (also known as floorball ). After the men's team won the last two world titles in 2008 and 2010 is one of the crew from the national team of Sweden as the strongest in the world.

History

Finland is among the countries of birth of floorball. Founded in 1985, The National Association Suomen Salibandyliitto (Swedish: Finlands Innebandyförbund ) was in 1986 in addition to the associations in Switzerland and Sweden, a founding member of the World Federation IFF. There are in Finland currently 42 182 registered players, playing in 838 clubs.

The Finnish men's national team played on 28 September 1985 at Sollentuna Sweden against the first international match. Sweden won the match by 13:1 and gave the Finnish national team until today (December 2010) the highest international match defeat. The first major international title won the team in 1995 with the European title. In the same year Finland had played out with a 30:0 over Japan to date (as of December 2010) the highest international match victory. By playing the World Cup 1996, the dominance of the Swedish national team that could win the world title five times in a row began. Only in 2008 could end this series at the World Championships in Prague, the Finnish team. Tero Tiitu had in the extension score the decisive goal in the final against Sweden.
