Firrel is a municipality in the district of Leer in Lower Saxony in Hesel.

History

The community was founded in 1762 as a colony after operation of Heuer people from the community Bagband. The Firrel was chosen as the name for a sand ridge in a swampy area. Education

Firrel belonged in the first 150 years since the founding of the parish Hesel that was initially responsible for the schooling.
