Nortmoor
Nortmoor is a municipality in the district of Leer in Lower Saxony in Jümme. The municipality has 1660 inhabitants and covers an area of 15.34 square kilometers.
Geography
The community Nortmoor lies directly adjacent to the city of Leer. Through the territory of the village flows the Jümme.
History
In the municipality can demonstrate a prehistoric settlement site. Archaeological excavations have uncovered this 1995, more than two thousand potsherds from the Roman Iron Age and Roman glass next to it also.
Nortmoor was moved in the High Middle Ages. Oldest document on Nortmoor is a document from the year 1411 in the of inheritance disputes Focko Ukenas with Ewinga is mentioned. Since 1436 is provable that settled a minister of the former building of the present-day St. George's Church.

The turnout in the local elections of 2011 was 61.4 %, well above the Lower Saxony average of 52.5 %. For comparison - in the previous local elections on 10 September 2006, the voter turnout was 58.3 %.

Traffic
