FK Voždovac

The FK Voždovcu (full official name in Serbian: Фудбалски клуб Вождовац, Fudbalski klub Voždovcu German: Football Club Voždovcu ) - also known as Voždovcu or Zmajevi ( German translation: " The Dragon" ) - is a Serbian football club from the district Dušanovac the central located in Belgrade district Voždovcu plays in the Super League, the top division in the Serbian football.

Founded in 1912, the capital club spent the first decades of its existence in the amateur field. At the times of Yugoslavia Voždovcu played mostly in the minor leagues and made only in the season 1963/64, for larger sensation when you climb to the 2nd Yugoslav league. History

The football club Voždovcu was founded in 1912 under the name FK Dušanovac, named after the district Dušanovac, which was mainly inhabited by people of the working class and is now located in the Belgrade Berzirk Voždovcu and 1929 umänderte his name in Voždovački SK. The first decades of its exist spent the association consistently in the amateur field, but made ​​in 1964 for a stir, as the Serbian league was won, then the 3rd League of Yugoslav football system, and thus rose for the first time in the 2nd league, where he was able to hold until 1968.

In 1973, the football club Sloboda Belgrade was disbanded, the local municipal authority decided his property over to the Voždovački SK, which then umänderte his name in FK Voždovcu. The first success under its new name was the victory of the Belgrade City Cup in 1975, but the club still spent the next three decades in the minor leagues in the country. It was not until 2004, should change this, as Voždovcu without a single defeat the Serbian League Belgrade, won one of the four sections of the third Serbian league, and thus ascended to the second league.

On June 18 2005, crest to a merger with the Serie A club Železnik Belgrade, who had to withdraw due to financial problems from the top division. The club thus played in the 2005/06 season for the first time in the 1st League and reached surprising in its debut season the 3rd place. For financial reasons, however Voždovcu had his participation in the qualification for the UEFA Cup 2006/ 07 to withdraw, and thus missed the first-time participation in the UEFA Cup. As surprising was the third bursts, as surprising was the subsequent descent, the end of the 2006/07 season, the club finished 10th despite goals from striker Nikola Đurđić only the last place, what the descent of the club in the 2nd League led. At times, the club played even only in the 3rd league, but managed as a master of season 2011/12 the resurgence in the second league. During the 2012/13 season, you missed the third just the re-emergence in the first league, however, since the long-time top-flight club Hajduk Kula withdrew for financial reasons from the elite, the Serbian Football Association Voždovcu decided to carry on in third place in the Super League.

Stadium

The home ground of the association is the Voždovcu Stadium, which is located in the district Voždovcu and 5,200 spectators bursting offers. In the newly built and opened in 2013 the stadium is a unique building, mainly because it is located on the roof of a modern shopping center. A total of 50 million euros were invested in the construction of the building complex, whose special construction technology was applied for the first time in Serbia. On the surface on which the object was constructed, was previously the old stadium of the club, which was built in 1912 and demolished in 2011. The current stadium was built in accordance with the economic, social and environmental standards of UEFA and is located approximately 40 meters above the ground. In September 2012, the German company has Polytan the playing field equipped with the latest artificial turf, the LigaTurf RS Pro Cool Plus. As the first building of its kind in Europe, the shopping center and the stadium Voždovcu is a new and coveted tourist attraction of the Serbian capital.
