Flag of British Columbia

The flag of British Columbia is the heraldic banners, the figures from the shield of the provincial coat of arms dar. In the upper third, the Union is represented as a symbol of the close ties with the UK flag, which is occupied in the middle with a crown. The lower two -thirds show in white three blue wave beams, which are outshone by the setting sun. The flag has a 5:3 aspect ratio.

From 1911 British Columbia had a flag that was hardly ever used. It was a Red Ensign with the coat of arms of the province. The introduction of the new flag was made on June 14, 1960 by the then Prime Minister of the province, WAC Bennett. It was first hoisted on board the Queen of Sidney society BC Ferries.
