Flemming Davanger

Davanger Flemming ( born April 1, 1963 in Bergen) is a Norwegian curler and Olympic champion.

1980 and 1981 took part in Davanger the Junior World Championships, but failed to qualify for the semifinals. After he had taken part in the European Championships in 1981 and 1982, he returned to the Junior category back and won the Junior World Championship 1983 in Medicine Hat the silver medal.

At the Olympic Winter Games in Albertville in 1992 he was transferred to the final defeat by the Swiss team of Urs Dick in second. However, the silver medal obtained has no official status, since curling was still a demonstration sport.

At the World Championships of 1986, 1990, 1993, 1994, 1999, 2000, 2004 and 2005 Davanger participated, but came away empty. At the 2001 World Championships in Lausanne, he won the bronze medal. A year later, at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, hit the Norwegian team in the final of the favored Canadians with skip Kevin Martin and Davanger was Olympic champion.

This was followed by a second place at the 2002 World Cup in Bismarck, a third place at the 2003 World Championships in Winnipeg and a third place at the 2004 European Championships in Sofia. At the 2005 European Championships in Garmisch -Partenkirchen, the Norwegians defeated in the final of the Swedish team with skip Peter Lindholm and Davanger became European Champion.

In 2006, Davanger at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin in part. The team finished fifth.
