Footballer of the Year in Russia (Sport-Express)
The title of Russia's Footballer of the Year will be awarded among players of all first division parallel for each calendar year in each year since 1991/92 by two different sports newspapers on the outcome of a vote each. The two votes are organized by the newspaper Sport-Express and the weekly magazine Futbol after the end of each Premjer - League season. For each choice are the players of the Premjer -division club, with Sport-Express only eleven players per team for election. Regularly win in both polls, the same players, so even at the last election in 2009 Alejandro Damián Domínguez. Only in 1992 and 2008, several players were named, but belonged to the same team.
As a rule, Russian players are selected, only in 2005 was awarded the Brazilian Daniel Carvalho a foreigner chosen, since then came one more foreign title holders at Sportespress two and Futbol do so.
