Fosciandora

Fosciandora is an Italian commune in the province of Lucca in Tuscany, with 614 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012).

The municipality is situated on the left bank of the Serchio on a slope. It consists of the districts Ponte di Ceserana, Ceserana, La Villa, Lupinaia, Fosciandora, Migliano, Treppignana and Riana. The municipality is bordered to the east by the province of Modena in the Emilia -Romagna.

Due to its location between Lucca and Modena and above the Serchio Valley, the place was the scene of clashes between the Lucchesern and families Este in the 15th and 17th centuries. Witness of the remains of fortifications in the village Lupinaia and the fortress Rocca di Ceserana.
