Francisco Costa (designer)

Francisco Costa ( born May 10, 1961 in Minas Gerais, Brazil) is a Brazilian fashion designer.

Life

After his schooling in Guarani, Minas Gerais Costa went in 1981 to the United States after New York City. There he studied at Hunter College and took night classes at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Costa was then a job at Herbert Rounick in Manhattan. Whose company produced women's dresses for Oscar de la Renta and Bill Blass. After the death of Rounick Costa worked in the next five years for the fashion designer Oscar de la Renta. He then worked for the fashion designer Tom Ford at Gucci. In 2001 Costa for U.S. companies Calvin Klein, where he rose to creative director of Calvin Klein Collection.

Costa lives with the horse trainer John DeStefano for over 14 years in New York City together.
