In a first administrative reform, the entire settlement was the Bonameser Social Hall On Ironing assigned. Because the Frankfurter Berg of Bonames separated by the broad Niddaaue, but is built contiguous with the other neighboring districts, the settlement was raised on 1 July 1996 at Frankfurt 's latest official district.

Originally the settlement Frankfurter Berg of Homburger Landstraße west was a workers' colony for the kingdom homestead law, built around 1937. Were created there traditional smaller house forms and settlement patterns with cohesion of neighborhoods. 1948, the bi-zonal settlement was established as the city of Frankfurt was considered a promising candidate for the then newly -determining Federal capital. The terraced houses of Bizonal settlement were built partially of wood, later it was made of stone. In 1953, more detached and multi-story apartment buildings were built. In 1966, numerous high-rise buildings in the Julius- Brecht -Strasse and the Heinrich-Plett -Straße were built. From the 1970s, therefore, was this relatively small portion of the Frankfurter Berg as a social focal point. It has now been successfully countered by an urban neighborhood management.

As of 1992, the two former American military barracks ( Edwards and Drake Barracks, formerly Kaiser- Wilhelm- barracks ) were dissolved. In this context, the related American Housing Areas ( Edwards Housing ) were in the direction Berkersheim also free. One-third of the stock was placed federal employees available, third the open market, and the remaining third was allocated to the social housing market. The former officers' houses and flats were sold freely.

From 2001, condominiums, townhouses, semi-detached houses and apartments were built in the area of Edwards Kaserne. The territory of the former Drake Barracks is now used by the Federal Police. In the former main building of the Edwards barracks federal agencies are housed. The process of civilian re-use is not yet completed, it has led to an overall mix of residents and workplaces in the district.

The Niddaaue north of the railway line is built since 2004/2007: a private investor has built here with the settlement TaunusSide condos and homes with Wi Taunusblick.
