Franklin Township is one of fifteen townships of Adams County in the U.S. state of Ohio. According to the census in 2000 1167 inhabitants were registered here.

Geography

Franklin Township is located in the extreme northeast of the Adams County in southwest Ohio, is in the south about 40 km from the Ohio River, which forms the natural border with Kentucky, bordered clockwise to the townships Mifflin Township and Sunfish Township, both in Pike County located Rarden township ( Scioto County), Meigs Township, Bratton Township and Brushcreek Township in Highland County.

Management

The township is administered by a Board of Trustees consisting of three elected members. Two persons are elected in the year after the presidential election and one each in the previous year. The term of office lasts four years, beginning on 1 January. There is also a Township Clerk (Secretary), who is also elected in the year before the presidential election to a four -year term. Whose term of office begins on April 1.
