Franz Roth

Franz " Bull" Roth ( * April 27, 1946 in Memmingen ) is a former German football player.

The said if his powerful style of play " Bull" four -time National Player spent 1966-1978 twelve years at Bayern Munich, with whom he won numerous national and international titles. Three times he scored in the 1-0 European Cup finals, which is a record of which its gates were twice sole decisive game.

Clubs

Roth began his footballing career in the C -Jugend TSV Bertoldshofen, changed in 1964 to SpVgg Kaufbeuren and left with the scouts of FC Bayern Munich a lasting impression, so he was equipped for the season 1966/67, with a pro contract. Launched his first Bundesliga game ( of 322 league games exclusively for Bayern Munich) was the 27th August 1966 (2nd Round ), when Bayern played 0-0 draw with Fortuna Dusseldorf. His first goal (of 72) he scored on 10 September 1966 ( 4th Round ) for interim 3-0 in a 6-1 away win against Karlsruher SC. On March 4, 1978 ( 28th Round ) - in a 1-1 away draw against Borussia Dortmund - Roth ran for the last time in the Bundesliga. Since his contract was not renewed at Bayern, he moved to Austria to second-division champion and Bundesliga's newly Casino Salzburg for whom he played one season before 1979, he finished his career as a professional footballer. His only goal for the Salzburg he achieved on August 18, 1978 ( 1st Round ) 2-1 win in the away match against Grazer AK. From January 1980 to June 1980, he played only 8 games for the SV Sandhausen in the Amateur Oberliga Baden- Württemberg. Then he played until 1985, for TSV Mindelheim, where he ended his career.

Franz Roth was known for his physical play manner and his hard shot, earning him the nickname " Bull". But he was also the man at Bayern Munich with the important goals in European Cup finals. So he met in 1967 in Nuremberg 's 1-0 playoff victory against the Rangers, 1975 final in Paris against Leeds United ( Result: 2-0) and 1976 in Glasgow against AS Saint- Étienne in a 1-0 draw. Overall Franz Roth marked 11 goals in 65 European matches for Bayern Munich.

National

From February 14th 1967 ( 0-1 defeat against England, in Mönchengladbach ) to 11 April 1968 ( 1-3 defeat against Czechoslovakia, in Monaco) Roth played eleven times for the A- juniors - selection U- 18, of which five games during the UEFA youth tournament. On October 7, 1967 Roth was first appointed to the senior team. During qualifying for the European Football Championship in 1968 managed a 3-1 home win against Yugoslavia. Upcoming appearances in the senior team were waiting for three years; only in 1970 were Roth's services in three friendly matches against Romania (1-1) on April 8, Yugoslavia (0-2 lost ) on 18 November, and Greece ( 3-1 won ) asked again on November 22. On May 7, 1969 Roth played in the meantime and only once for the junior selection U -23, who scored a 2-2 draw against the selection of Austria in Graz.

Today Franz Roth operates Sports Shops in Bad Wörishofen market in Oberndorf. Soccer World Cup 2010, he supported the social project we help Africa in South Africa.

Over three decades Roth was married to Inca, who died of cancer in 2007.
