Fred Armisen

Frederick R. Armisen ( born December 4, 1966 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi) is an American actor, comedian and musician.

Life

Frederick R. Armisen was born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Shortly after his birth his family moved to Manhattan, where he grew up in Valley Stream, Long Iceland. His mother Hildegardt is a primary school teacher and comes from Venezuela, while his father worked at IBM and German and Japanese descent. He studied at the New York School of Visual Arts, which he, however, in favor of the attempt to start a career as a drummer, gave up.

The first attempts as a musician with his high school friends failed. He retired in 1988 from New York to Chicago and played in the punk rock band Trench Mouth as a drummer with. In 1990, he was the drummer of the Blue Man Group. In 2007 he played on Les Savy Favs Let's Stay Friends with on three tracks as a drummer.

Armisen was married from 1998 to 2004 with the English singer-songwriter Sally Timms. From 2009 to 2011, he was married to the actress and avowed Scientologist Elisabeth Moss. He himself claimed to be an atheist.
