Fredi Albrecht

Fredi Albrecht ( born June 23, 1947 in Albrechts ) is a former German wrestler and referee.

Career

Fredi Albrecht was to some extent put the rings in the cradle, was but the multiple pan- German champion and multiple DDR Master Herbert Albrecht his father. He therefore started early with the rings and had as a young beautiful success. He wrestled exclusively in Greco- Roman style. As showed his great disposition, he moved to SC Motor Zella- Mehlis, where Helmut Albrecht from Viernau his coach was. He also visited the children 's and youth sports school in Zella -Mehlis. The 1.89 m tall athlete first started out in the light heavyweight class, but soon grew into the heavyweight division. In 1967 he finished in the GDR championships in the heavyweight class 3rd place, which was only three years after his father Herbert was 1964 the last time become GDR Champion. Fredi Albrecht succeeded also a good international career, he became Vice World and European Vice Champion.

After the end of his career as an active wrestler Fredi Albrecht was judge and came six times at the Olympics used.

After the political changes of 1989/90 Fredi Albrecht moved to Veitshoechheim at Würzburg, where he still lives and works today.
