Frequency standard

A normal frequency (or the calibration frequency) is derived from a highly accurate frequency standard frequency. It is often the same as the carrier frequency of the time signal services and radio stations in the long and medium waveband. Since 1991, the composite signal of the analog television station ZDF was used for distribution in the Federal Republic of Germany.

For normal frequency ( standard pitch ) for musical instruments see pitch

In the short- wave range of the standard frequencies send 2,500 kHz, 5000 kHz, 10000 kHz and 15000 kHz numerous time signal and standard frequency transmitter.
