Since their continuation was already planned into the valley of the Kinzig ( and was performed as part of the Kinzig Valley Railway 1886), the main station in the southeast of the city was relatively far from the center, built. 1901, the Württemberg part of the Murgtalbahn after Reichenbach Monastery was built. Here, a unit station of type IIIb of 60 meters up to the center station was built north of the center. A continuous connection to Rastatt in 1928 set up. Thus Freudenstadt Hbf is the starting point of three railway lines.

The Murgtalbahn provides the connection to Karlsruhe and is operated by the Karlsruhe Stadtbahn. The lines S41 and S31 Albtal traffic -Gesellschaft ( AVG) connect Freudenstadt Rastatt with Karlsruhe. The S41 runs as hourly tram to the city center of Karlsruhe and the fast train line S31 every two hours to Karlsruhe Main Station and then on to Odenheim or Menzingen. The stations within Freudenstadt are the main railway station, the bus stop school center / Panoramabad, the city railway station and the breakpoint industrial area. All Freudenstädter breakpoints are served during the day in half-hour of light rail. The S41 wrong here - unusual for rural areas - until the early morning hours.

Eutingen and Stuttgart are connected via the Gäubahn. There is a rail service at hourly intervals with compressions school transport. Since 2006, coming from Karlsruhe S41 goes up after Eutingen where connection is made to the RE Stuttgart-Singen every two hours over Freudenstadt addition.
