The FSV Wacker 90 Nordhausen is a pure football club from the northern Thuringian town of Nordhausen.

History

Club development

The FSV Wacker 90 Nordhausen goes back to the FC Wacker Nordhausen, which was established on 1 November 1905 by members of the Protestant youth club Nordhausen. At the general meeting of 14 July 1906 Youth Department was established and unanimously decided to " out of the football other leibe strengthening exercises ... to operate. " FC Wacker 05 Nordhausen has therefore been renamed SV Wacker 05 Nordhausen. After the dissolution of all sports clubs in the year 1945, the SG Nordhausen was founded. Before the season 1948/49, the division soccer SG Nordhausen was first connected to the existing BSG Lok Nordhausen, which bore the name of BSG KWU Nordhausen to a carrier operating changes. On September 1, 1949 saw the founding of the greatest sports club in the region, the BSG Motor Nordhausen, which emerged from the BSG IFA ABUS. Football

From the club was founded on Wacker Nordhausen first played only unterklassig. Overall, the club took part in the finals seven times around the central German Cup, but reached only twice the next round. The qualification for the 1933 newly founded center Gauliga never managed the club until 1944.

After the Second World War, the BSG KWU involved 1949/50, for the first time at the Thuringian football championship and was in the state Class Season 1 runner-up. Thus, the now An incoming as motor Nordhausen BSG had qualified for the second-rate DDR -Liga. In their first league season, the north houses were in the Südstaffel 9 and had to play in the relegation against the North Ninth unit Wismar. Until the season 1956 played Nordhausen without interruption in the I. DDR -Liga, after the descent from 1955 to 1962 in the third-class II DDR -Liga. In the 1981/82 season the team took part as the winner of the league season on the E offs for promotion to Serie A, but three draws and five defeats from eight games were not enough to ascend. After the 1988/89 season Nordhausen had to descend in the district league again, but qualified in 1990 as a district champion Erfurt for the Oberliga West in the play mode of the DFB.

Motor Nordhausen or its predecessor communities participated 1949-1990 a total of 35 times in the competitions to the GDR football trophy. The greatest successes were reaching the quarter- finals in 1954 and 1986.

From the 1991/92 season the club played in the Oberliga West, was there in the 1994/95 season table first, and rose to the Regionalliga West. There the Nordhäuser reached in the first two seasons with an eleventh and a twelfth place in the league, before the club relegated in his third season as 17 of the table back into the league. 2001, the club was relegated from the league and had to file for bankruptcy. Meanwhile played Wacker therefore even only in the country sechstklassigen class. Again in 2005, the club rose to the Thuringia League and finished there in the first season a respectable fourth place. 2012 succeeded the club as a master of Thuringia League after eleven years of the return to now, however, only fifth rate Oberliga Nordost. A year later, there has even been " walkover " in the now fourth-rate Regionalliga Nord.

Success of the club was mainly in the TFV Cup, which the North houses could win three times. 1992 was defeated in the final bismuth Gera, 1996 and 1997 Wacker won the finals against FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt. By the Cup wins at association level, the Nordhäuser played several times in the main round of the DFB Cup. Opened on August 26, 1923 Albert Kuntz - sports park has 8,000 seats, and there are 1,088 covered seats and 1,500 standing places covered. Most viewers came with 10,000 in 1953 and 1967 respectively against Dynamo Dresden against Rot -Weiß Erfurt.
