Gabriel Obertan ( born February 26, 1989 in Pantin ) is a French football player. The midfielder, he stands in the Premier League with Newcastle United.

Career

Association

Obertan went through the youth departments of the Paris FC (2002-2003), Paris SG (2003-2004) and Claire Fontaine (2004-2005) before moving to Bordeaux in the summer of 2005. Since the season 2006/ 07 he is in the first team of Girondins Bordeaux. His first game he played on September 30, 2006, when he came on in the 76th minute against FC Valenciennes. His first goal he scored on 22 April 2007 against AS Saint- Étienne. For the 2009/10 season he moved to Manchester United and was awarded a three -year contract. In August 2011, Newcastle United Obertan committed. He signed a five-year contract until 30 June 2016.

National

Obertan played for several junior national teams of France. He graduated ten games ( one goal) for the U -16 and twelve games ( three goals) for the U-17 juniors. BIs 2010 he played for the U- 21 team.
