Gabriel Sargissian

Gabriel Sarkisyan (Armenian Գաբրիել Սարգսյան, other transcriptions are Sargissjan ( German ), Sarkissian (english) in scientific transliteration Gabriel Sargsyan Azati; born February 3, 1983 in Yerevan ) is an Armenian chess player. The correct pronunciation of his name is [ gabri'ɛl sarkǝs'jan ].

Achievements

He was in Menorca U14 World Champion and 1998 European Champion in Mureck U16 1996. He became International Champion, 2002 Grand Master in 1999. In the years 2000 and 2003, he was Armenian masters. He only won two major tournaments in Dubai and Reykjavik, and then won with the Armenian national team's gold medal at the Chess Olympiad in Turin.
