Galina Tsareva

Galina Georgievna Tsareva (Russian Галина Георгиевна Царева; born April 19, 1950 in Welikije Luki ) is a former Soviet track cyclist and six time world champion in the sprint.

Between 1969 and 1980, dominated Galina Tsareva the Women's Sprint on the track. Six times she became world champion (1969 in Brno, 1970 in Leicester, 1971 in Varese, 1977 in San Cristobal, in Munich in 1978 and 1979 in Amsterdam. Moreover, it was once vice-world champion in (1980 in Besançon ) and one third (1974 in Montreal ).

1989 succeeded Tsareva again a victory in the Sprint Classic Grand Prix de Paris, after she was in 1987 finished third in this race.

Galina Tsareva is married to the Russian cycling coach Alexander Kuznetsov (World Champion in the Team Pursuit 1969 ), their sons are the cyclist Nikolai and Alexei Kuznetsov. Your daughter is the tennis player Svetlana Kuznetsova.
