Becky James

Rebecca " Becky " Angharad James (* 19 November 1991 in Abergavenny, Wales) is a British cyclist.

Sports career

Rebecca James specializes in short-term disciplines of track cycling. In 2010 she was in St. Petersburg European champion ( junior ) in the sprint and won silver in the 500 -meter time trial. At the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, she finished second in the sprint and third in the time trial. In the UCI Track World Championships 2011 in Apeldoorn, she took the sprint ninth and seventh place in the time trial.

2009 James twofold in Moscow Junior World Champion, in the sprint and keirin in. During this World Cup, they presented on 13 August 2009 a junior world record over 200 meters flying at 11.093 s. In the UCI Track World Championships 2013 in Minsk was Rebecca James world champion in sprint and keirin in; she won in the team sprint together with Victoria Williamson third place as well in the time trial. So she was the most successful athlete in the world championships.

Honors

2010 James was nominated for the election of the "BBC Wales Sports Personality of the Year" and took second place behind the footballer Gareth Bale. 2013, she was elected "Junior Sportswoman of the Year " in the UK.
