Gambia Bird Ltd.. is a Gambian airline based in Serekunda - Kanifing.

History

Gambia Bird was founded in 2012 and started operations on 22 October 2012, on the route from Banjul to Dakar. The airline offers connections within West Africa and Europe. Gambia Bird is 90 % owned by the German airline Germania Express. Currently mostly come both the management and the staff from Germany.

Until May 2013, two A319 Germania Express were (D - ASTA and B, and consequently their entire fleet ) used for Gambia Bird. In May 2013 D- ASTA was returned to the Germania - operation ( and used for an English Greece tour operator from Manchester ). In the summer of 2013 is thus just a A319 in use before the Winter 2013/2014, a Boeing 757-200 of Titan Airways Gambia Bird fleet encounter and Europe Flights will take on wet lease.

Destinations

Currently Gambia Bird operated from its base on the Banjul International Airport primarily targets in the West African region. October 24, 2012 in Europe regularly London, and has been flying since October 28, 2012, Barcelona. Flights are planned to Lagos and Douala for the future, but there has been no approval from the authorities for the submitted plans.

Fleet

The flights of Gambia Bird are conducted by aircraft of the Germania Express in wetlease. Also the maintenance of the aircraft takes over Germania Technology in Berlin.
