Gastón Ramírez (2014)
Gastón Ramírez Exequiel Pereyra ( born December 2, 1990 in Fray Bentos ) is a Uruguayan football player. The current national team is since 2012 in the English Premier League with FC Southampton under contract.
Club career
Ramirez began his career in the youth of his home club Peñarol Montevideo, where he went through the entire Academy and matured into one of the greatest talents of Uruguay.
On March 21, 2009, he celebrated in the city derby against Defensor Sporting Club at the age of eighteen years his debut in the first team. It was followed by nine further appearances in the 2009 Clausura, before he has already become the following season to a service provider.
Forced by coach Diego Aguirre, who gave him in spite of his young age, with a central role in the game system of Peñarol, he became the shooting star of the season. In conjunction with the Forward - veterans Diego Alonso and Antonio Pacheco is developed for Peñarol strongest offensive team in the league and won for the first time since 2003, the Uruguayan championship. In his first season with the English, he completed 26 games in the Premier League and scored five goals. Until his most recent application on March 15, 2014, he came in the 2013/14 season to 15 other league inserts ( one goal).
National
Ramírez was a member of the Uruguayan U -20 national team, in which he made his debut under coach Diego Aguirre on 15 May 2008 in the match against Mexico. With the selection, he participated in the Junior World Cup in 2009. Among his later club coach Aguirre, he was there beside Nicolás Lodeiro and Jonathan Urretaviscaya as the most conspicuous player of his team. Uruguay rose a second group ahead of England and Uzbekistan to the last sixteen, where to but had to give the eventual finalists Brazil defeated with 1:3 itself. Ramírez completed all three group games in which he scored two assists before he was sidelined in the second round due to suspension. Overall, he graduated from the U- 20 13 caps and scored three goals.
His debut in the senior team, he celebrated on 8 October 2010, during the 7-1 victory in the friendly match against Indonesia. Since then he belongs to the extended circle of "Celeste". In total he graduated up to his most recent application on March 5, 2014 27 internationals. A personal scoring was denied him this far.
In football tournament of the 2012 Olympic Games in London Ramírez was a member of the Uruguayan squad. For the Olympic team of Uruguay, he played since his debut on July 11, 2012, a total of five games and scored two goals.
