Gedling

Gedling is a local government district with the status of a borough in the county of Nottinghamshire in England. Administrative seat is the town of Arnold, the district is, however, named after the village of Gedling. Other important places are Burton Joyce, Carlton, Colwick and Ravenshead. It is twinned with Rotenburg an der Fulda.

The district was formed on 1 April 1974 and evolved from the merger of the urban districts Arnold and Carlton and part of Basford Rural District.
