Newark and Sherwood

Newark and Sherwood is a District in the county of Nottinghamshire in England. Administrative seat is the town of Newark-on -Trent. Other important towns are Bilsthorpe, Blidworth, Clipstone, Ollerton, Rainworth and Southwell.

The district was formed on 1 April 1974 and evolved from the merger of the Municipal Borough Newark and the Rural District Newark and Southwell.
