Georg Späth

Georg Späth ( born February 24, 1981 in Oberstdorf) is a German ski jumper. Spaeth is a sports soldier in the sports promotion group of the Bundeswehr in Sonthofen.

Career

In Planica he reached in the season 2003/ 04 after the first day of competition of the Ski Flying World Championships 1st place, but slipped on the 2nd day to 4th from. His biggest success is the silver medal in the team competition on the normal hill at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2005 in his home town of Oberstdorf. Georg Spaeth was German champion in 2005, both in the individual competition and in the team competition (winner: Team Bavaria). In addition, 2005 he reached the World Cup in Willingen, together with the German team to 1st place. At the 2006 Ski Flying World Championships Georg Spaeth caught with the German team (next Späth yet Alexander Herr, Michael Neumayer and Michael Uhrmann ) surprisingly the bronze medal. In the Summer Grand Prix in Hinterzarten he won the individual competition, which he was able to repeat 2008. In Courchevel, he was second after good performance.

On 13 October 2008 it was announced that Späth two months ago drew upon a cruciate ligament injury in a crash during training in Pragelato and will not start this season due to his, but only to return to the hill in summer 2009.

End of March 2008 began Späth at the Ansbach University of the bachelor program International Management, a course of study that has been adapted to the HS Ansbach and designed for top athletes.

In the division of the German Ski Association cadres for the season 2011/2012 Georg Spaeth was not considered due to poor performance in the previous season.
