Michael Uhrmann

Michael Uhrmann ( born September 16, 1978 in Wegscheid ) is a former German ski jumper and today's ski jumping coach.

Career

Watch man is Polizeihauptmeister at the federal police. Already as a teenager he was able to secure in the years 1995 and 1996, twice the title of World Junior Champion in the team and also was in 1996 and world junior champion in the individual competition. He won two World Cup competitions in singles, in Zakopane in the season 2003/ 04 and in Oberstdorf in the season 2006/ 07, as well as the Olympic gold medal with the team in Salt Lake City in 2002, the world championship with the team on the large hill, the bronze medal with the team on the normal hill at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2001 and the silver medal with the team on the normal hill at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2005 in Oberstdorf. In 2006 he won with the German team, surprisingly, the bronze medal at the Ski Flying World Championships in Tauplitz ( Kulm ). In training for the 2007 World Championships in Sapporo Michael watch men fell heavily. He retired to a broken foot and could not therefore participate in the competitions.

At the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver in 2010, he reached the 5th and on the large hill in 25th place in jumping on the normal hill. In the Olympic team jumping watch men won with Michael Neumayer, Andreas Wank and Martin Schmitt silver. On 2 February 2011, he jumped into the Vogtland Arena in Klingenthal a new hill record of 146.5 meters.

On 3 March 2011 watch men announced to retire after the final team competition of the World Cup season from active competition sport. After the team competition at the World Championships, where he once again reached the fourth place in the team, watch man ended his active career.

Since ending his active career Michael Uhrmann operates as assistant coach for the C -team at the German Ski Association. He is also active as skispringen.com columnist at the website.

Watch man is married since April 4, 2006 a daughter. In October 2009, his second daughter was born. In November 2011, the birth of his third daughter followed. He was representative of Bavaria in the 12th Federal Assembly in 2004.
