Markku Pusenius

Markku Pusenius (* May 29, 1964 in Lahti ) is a former Finnish ski jumper.

Pusenius, which was included in the national squad in 1981, jumped on March 7, first described in 1981 in his home Lahti jumping in the World Cup. He finished the competition on the large hill in 14th place.

At the Junior World Championship 1982 in Murau he won on 3 March 1982 on the normal hill silver medal. The following 1982/83 season was the most successful World Cup season of his career. He was able to increase its performance steadily and was on the Čerťák large hill in Harrachov reach his only podium finishes in the World Cup, each with a 2nd and a 3rd place. On February 12, 1984, he won at the Nordic World Ski Championships 1984 in Engelberg in the team together with Pentti Kokkonen, Jari Matti Nykänen Puikkonen and the gold medal in front of the team of the GDR.

At the Olympic Winter Games in 1984 and the associated World Cup in Ski Jumping in Sarajevo he reached on the normal hill on 12th February 1984 and 20th in the large hill on 18 February the 16th Place.

After the Olympics, he could not jump out on a place in the Top 30 in the World Cup with one exception. On January 17, 1985, he was again in the squad of the Finns for the Nordic World Ski Championships 1985 in Seefeld in Tirol. At the end, he finished on the large hill but only in 35th place. On 2 March 1986, he jumped again a World Cup competition in Lahti, which he was able to finish in 12th place. He then ended his active Skispringerkarriere.
