Stefan Horngacher

Stefan Horngacher ( born September 20, 1969 in Wörgl ) is a former Austrian ski jumper. His active career he finished in summer 2002.

Career

With the Austrian jumpers team he won at the Olympic Games in 1994 and 1998 the bronze medal. His best individual result at the Olympics was the fifth place while jumping on the large hill in Salt Lake City in 2002.

In the Nordic World Ski Championships 1991 in Val di Fiemme, he was with the team along with Ernst Vettori, Andreas Felder and Heinz Kuttin world champion. He also won gold at the 2001 World Championships in Lahti, the inaugural team competition on the normal hill. To this end, a bronze medal in Lahti and two more came at the World Championships in 1993 in Falun and 1999 in Ramsau, each in the team competition on the large hill.

Horngacher in the World Cup in 1991 could win the competition in Zakopane ski flying at Kulm and 1999. In addition, he was successful four times with the Austrian Eqipe in team competition at the World Cup.

After his career was Horngacher youth coach, first in Austria, where he worked under Hannu Lepisto, and later in Poland, where he was assistant coach of Heinz Kuttin. Since early 2006, he was base manager in Hinterzarten and trained there on behalf of the German Ski Association ( DSV), the junior team. He also supported the meantime Martin Schmitt, who was still in the 2005/06 season in a serious drop in energy levels, as a personal trainer. In 2008 he took over the B-team of the DSV. In summer 2011, he handed over the responsibility for this to Ronny Horn shoe because he was called by head coach Werner Schuster Co- coach of the World Cup team.

Family

Horngacher is married and has two children. He lives with his family in Titisee -Neustadt.
