George Fonder

George Fonder ( born June 22, 1917 in Elmhurst, Pennsylvania, USA, † June 14, 1958 in Hartfield, Pennsylvania, USA) was an American race car driver.

Fonder was in the 1940s and 1950s, one of the leading Midget Car driver. Chance he also started in the AAA National series, including three times in the 500 miles of Indianapolis. In his first start in 1949 he fell out after 116 laps with engine failure, 1950 and 1951, he failed to qualify. 1952, he reached on a Sherman Offenhauser with a gap of three rounds on the winner Troy Ruttman Rank 15 Also in 1954, he was not originally qualified. However, he took over after 44 laps the Schroeder- Offenhauser by Len Duncan and suffered an engine failure on lap 101.
