George Murdock (actor)

George Murdock, actually Jr. George R. Sawaya ( born June 25, 1930 in Salina, Kansas, † April 30, 2012 in Burbank, California ) was an American actor.

Life

George Murdock visited the Salina High School, where he graduated in 1948. He studied for his military service in the United States Navy at Wesleyan University and received his degree in 1957. In his hometown, he worked for a time as a bus driver before he moved to Los Angeles in order to establish himself as an actor. There he played theaters and was later one of the founders of the Melrose Theatre. From the early 1960s played with Murdock in several television series, before he made his debut in 1962 in a small role in the staged by Hubert Cornfield drama The language of violence on the screen.

In addition to the actors Dean Cain, Teri Hatcher, Patrick Cassidy, Michael McKean, Richard Gant Gant and Rob LaBelle is the only one in the two Supermanserien Superman - occurred Lois & Clark and Smallville from. He is also one of 24 actors who appeared in both Doctor Who and the Star Trek franchise. In Star Trek, he played both God in the fifth feature film Star Trek V: The Final Frontier, as well as Admiral JP Hanson in two episodes of the television series Star Trek: The Next Generation.

On April 30, 2012 Murdock died at the age of 81 years at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center of complications from cancer. He left behind his wife and stepdaughter.
