Georgios Kalaitzis

Giorgos Kalaitzis (Greek Γιώργος Καλαϊτζής, born October 29, 1976 in Volos ) is a Greek professional basketball player of the part measured on the acquired titles of the most successful Greek basketball player of all time.

Career

The 1.94 m tall point guard started his career with Niki Volou before joining Greek giants Panathinaikos on the stations Panionios Athens and Stefanel Milano. With Panathinaikos Kalaitzis won in nine years, in addition to eight championships and three cup victories, including two times the ULEB Euro League. In 2006 he moved to Aris Thessaloniki he could lead in the Top16 Round of ULEB Euro League in his first year.

National

Besides a number of national titles won Kalaitzis 1995 with the U- 19 Selection of Greece, the World Cup on home soil in Athens. Besides Kalaitzis played in this team also his later team-mate Dimitris Papanikolaou and later Europe and Vice World Champion Michalis Kakiouzis. Later Kalaitzis was for years an integral part of the Greek national team in which he maintained 56 internationals.
