Gerhard Hund

Gerhard Friedrich Hund ( born February 4, 1932 in Leipzig ) is a German chess player, functionary and journalist and computer pioneer. He is a professional mathematician and computer scientist.

Life

The eldest son of Friedrich Hund (1896-1997) and Ingeborg Seynsche at his father's birthday in 1932, born Gerhard dog visited from 1942, the St. Thomas School in Leipzig, the Domgymnasium Naumburg and the Humanistic Gymnasium in Jena, which he completed in 1950 by high school graduation. Mathematics and physics, he studied at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena (1950-1951) and then in Frankfurt am Main with a degree in mathematics in the summer of 1955. After graduation, he worked at Alwin Walther as a research assistant at the Institute for Practical Mathematics at the Technical University of Darmstadt, where he obtained a teaching program for electronic computing machines.

From 1961 to 1995 he was Chief Executive of the Bayer AG in Leverkusen, where he was General Manager and later in 1974 authorized agent of the company. As department head, he headed in the computer science system development for central areas.
