Gerhard Narholz

Gerhard Narholz ( born June 9, 1937) is an Austrian composer, arranger and conductor.

Life

Narholz studied composition at the Vienna Music Academy, as well as musicology and pedagogy. He devoted himself first the entertainment music and wrote pop songs for 1958-1965 Petula Clark, Heidi Brühl, Bill Ramsey and the music for German Schlager-/Heimatfilmen and TV series. During this time he arranged and produced LPs for Polydor Germany, and under his pseudonym Otto Sieben for Polydor Tokyo.

In 1965 Narholz the Sonoton Recorded Music Library. 1970-1980: arranged under the pseudonym Norman Candler, directed and produced Gerhard Narholz several LPs with his " Magic Strings" for Teldec Germany and London / King Records, Tokyo. 1971 Norman Candler received the "Three Star Award" by the BBC for " the best LP of the Year".

Narholz founded the label VIVA PRO and PRO NOVA music publishing, dedicated to the compositions of living classical composers. He composed and produced easy-listening albums for Sonoton and Intersound with Billy May, Horst Jankowski, Nelson Riddle, Les Brown, Ted Heath, Mr. Acker Bilk, Xavier Cugat, Franck Pourcel, inter alia, 1980-2009, the focus was on compositions of Production -Music for Sonoton. Gerhard Narholz is co-owner and managing director of Sonoton Music GmbH & Co. KG, Munich.
