Gert-Jan Liefers

Gert -Jan Liefers (actually: Gerrit -Jan Liefers; born September 26, 1978 in Apeldoorn) is a Dutch middle and long distance runners.

At the World Athletics Championships in 1999 in Seville, he left more than 1500 m in the flow, and at the World Cross Country Championships in 2000, he came on the short distance to the 41st place.

The following year he was, he was at the World Championships in Edmonton ninth over 1500 m, and at the 2003 World Indoor Championships in Birmingham sixth over 3000 m and at the World Championships in Paris / Saint- Denis seventh above 1,500 meters.

In 2004 he was again sixth over 3000 meters at the World Indoor Championships in Budapest and aft over 1500 m at the Olympic Games in Athens. At the European Championships in Gothenburg in 2006 he was eighth in the 5000m.

So far, he has been five times Dutch champion over 1,500 m (1996-1999, 2004), once in the 5000m (2006) and four times in cross country skiing on the short-range (2001, 2003, 2004, 2008). In the hall he won once over 1500 m (1998 ) and twice higher than 3000 m (1996, 2004) the national title.

Gert -Jan Liefers is 1,87 m tall and weighs 74 kg. He starts 34 Apeldoorn for the AV.
