Gießen–Gelnhausen railway

The railway casting - Gelnhausen is a single-track, non-electrified main line in Hesse. It runs from pouring over Nidda to Gelnhausen. The traffic line on the track is now being marketed as Lahn- Kinzig -Bahn.

The route is part of the federally-owned railway network ( DB Netz ) and is currently (2012 ) operated by passenger trains ( GTW 2/ 6) of the HLB Hesse Bahn GmbH, a company in the Hessian State Railway, on behalf of the Rhine -Main Transport Association ( RMV).

The timetable change 2003/2004 on 14 December 2003, the weekend and holiday traffic was again taken up. In addition, the section Nidda Glauburg - Büdingen - Gelnhausen morning and evening served by bus line 374. Until the change of timetable 2009/2010 this line was still called 610 and served the total distance of Gelnhausen Giessen. History

The web has been planned since 1862, it was built and operated by the Upper Hessian Railway Company and it was opened in several sections:
