Gmina Łubniany

Lugnian (Polish Łubniany ) is a city and seat of the rural community in the powiat Opolski in Polish Opole Voivodeship.

Geography

Neighboring communities of the municipality Lugnian are large Döbern, Lasowice Wielkie Murow, Opole and Turawskie.

History

The town was first mentioned in 1260.

In the plebiscite in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921 705 voters voted to remain in Germany and 883 for Poland .. Lugnian remained with the German Reich. 1933 lived 2676 inhabitants in the town. On August 10, 1936, the town was renamed in Lugendorf. 1939, the place had 3006 inhabitants. By 1945, the place was in the district of Opole.

In 1945 the previously German place under Polish administration and renamed Łubniany and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950, the city came to Opole Voivodeship. In 1999 the place to powiat Opolski. On 30 April 2010, the City also received the official German place names Lugnian.
