Go Too

Occupation

Go Too is the third and final album by the band Go.

Background

Stomu Yamashta, who had co-founded with Steve Winwood, Michael Shrieve, Al Di Meola, Klaus Schulze and others, the group Go, replaced Steve Winwood, who had left the group by Jess Roden and changed for the album the style of the group. In addition, Linda Lewis was hired as a singer. Together with Paul Jackson and the Orchestra by Martin Ford unified the album various soundscapes.

The album begins with the piece Prelude, a synthesizer piece that is influenced by Klaus Schulze's game. This is followed with lakes You Before a jazz-funk fusion piece with a remarkable solo by Al Di Meola.

The next piece, Madness, is a radio piece that fades at the end with the sound of waves on the romantic song Mystery of Love. The piece is dominated by Al Di Meola's moving guitar solos and the emotional vocals of Roden and Lewis.

Wheels of Fortune is characterized by complex rhythm and almost pure jazz, while beauty again strikes a romantic tone. The album ends with a radio - accented piece, You and Me, and Ecliptic, reminiscent of a whale songs synthesizer piece.

Reception

Allmusic awarded four out of five stars; Dave Thompson wrote in his review: help The natural and elegant details to interweave the very disparate elements of the album tight, there is the set cohesion and every track the feel of a larger design, one which connects the east and west, space-rock to classical and fusion to rock in the broadest sense. A sensational album, which is impressive even today.
