God 's Son ( German: Son of God ) is the sixth album by rapper Nas was released in December 2002 and includes, among other things, the singles " Made You Look", " Get Down " and " I Can", a song whose melody on Beethoven is built " For Elise ". From Time Magazine God 's Son was named best hip - hop album of 2002. Nas dedicated to his mother, Ann Jones, who died after two years of chemotherapy of breast cancer in April 2002 the album. The title of Nas chose out of respect to his mother. God 's Son is called Nas personal album, as many details are revealed from his private life. Nas tells himself that he has gained a lot of experience in this period of his life that make him have more mature and stronger. He has become much more focused on emotions, mind and spirit rather than divide Material things and wants this knowledge with his listeners.
God 's Son got in at # 12 on the album charts and was verified with 1 million recordings sold platinum on 14 January 2003. In Germany, God 's Son could keep two weeks in the album charts. In this case, the recorded music occupied the positions 89 and 91 The first single " Made You Look" is supposed to be a sort of New York street anthem. The music video was filmed this in the districts of Queens, The Bronx and at the famous Rucker Park in Harlem.
