Godello

Godello is a white grape variety from Spain and is regarded as indigenous grape of Galicia. There it is, inter alia, in the appellations Monterrei, Ribeira Sacra, Ribeiro and Valdeorras but also in the DO Bierzo grown. Especially in Valdeorras be generated from it in recent times more common in fresh and fruity white wines in a modern internationally recognized style. Thus, paragraph 160 hectares have been replanted in the 1990s.

Often grown varietal provides the Godello a pale yellow to straw yellow, acid- stressed and rather low-alcohol wine with a delicate bouquet of green apples and apricot. Blended with the grape varieties Albarino, Doña Blanca and Trajadura (also called Treixadura ) it is also offered.
