Geography

Göpfritz at the Wild is situated in the heart of the Waldviertel in Lower Austria about 20 kilometers north-east of the district capital Zwettl. The area of ​​the municipality covers 60.58 square kilometers. 36.93 percent of the area is forested. The game is a forest area north of the training area Allentsteig.

Göpfritz is located on the Waldviertel road B 2 and at the Franz - Josef -Bahn.

History

The first mention was made in 1308 as the Goetfrids pei Neitzen. In the core Austrian state of Lower Austria lying the place told the eventful history of Austria.

Population Development

According to the results of the 2001 census, there were 1,809 inhabitants. In 1991, the market town of 1,881 inhabitants in 1981 and 1,986 in 1971, 2,233 inhabitants.
