Gouvelândia

Gouvelândia is a Brazilian municipality in the state of Goiás in the mesoregion southern Goiás and in the micro-region Quirinópolis. It is located southwest of the Brazilian capital Brasília and the state capital of Goiânia. Gouvelândia is located in the extreme southwest of Goiás on a plateau 395 m with a flat topography.

The municipality includes the town Setenópolis.

Gouvelândia borders

  • On the northeast by the municipality of Bom Jesus de Goiás
  • To the east by Inaciolândia
  • In the southeast of the reservoir São Simão at Ipiaçu (MG)
  • In the south of the reservoir São Simão at Santa Vitória (MG)
  • From southwest to north Quirinópolis

Gouvelândia is drained by the boundary Rivers:

  • Rio dos Bois in the East
  • São Francisco River in the southwest

Resp. by recognizing them side arms of the reservoir São Simão. The municipal area is marked by many wetlands with small lakes.
