Greater Hume is located on the southern border of the State of Victoria on the Murray River about 280 km southwest of the Australian capital Canberra and 385 km northeast of the city of Melbourne. The area includes 39 districts and towns, including Alma Park, Brocklesby, Bulgandry, Bungowannah, Burrumbuttock, Carabost, Cookardinia, Coppa Bella, Culcairn, Garryowen, Gerogery, Gerogery West, Glenellen, Lankeys Creek, Holbrook, Little Billabong, Morven, Walbundrie, Walla Walla, Wymah and parts of Balldale, Henty, Jindera, Jingellic, Rosewood and Table Top. The seat of the Shire Council is located in the town of Holbrook in the center of the LGA, where about 1,300 inhabitants.

Management
