Greatest Hits is the first official best-of album by Australian pop singer Kylie Minogue, released in August 1992. It includes all the singles up to that time published worldwide as well as three new songs.
A total of 19 hits from the previous four studio albums combined the compilation of which were able to place 16 in the British Top Ten ( including five number one ). In Germany, after all, four placed in the top ten - including her number one " I Should Be So Lucky". In addition, (No. 1 in Japan) and " It's No Secret", the local Publications " Turn It Into Love " included ( number 37 in the U.S.). The three new songs were " Where In The World? ", " What Kind Of Fool ( Heard All That Before ) " and the Kool- & -the -course Cover "Celebration". The last two were released as a single. Especially the video for " What Kind of Fool ( Heard All That Before ) ", an ironic Brigitte Bardot parody, ran successfully on the music channels. However, the single placed just bad, even in the UK charts, where Kylie had previously celebrated their greatest successes.
Minogue finished with this publication, its successful collaboration with the production team Stock Aitken Waterman due to artistic differences: The producer team that had written the majority of the hits contained, Minogue had only recently granted a say in the song selection and promotion. Minogue could not prevent the album cover, which she showed as a " nice girl next door" and no longer corresponded to their own image claims what she could, however, provide only two years later as " Indie Kylie " also demonstrated.
