Ultimate Kylie is the title of the second official greatest hits collection of the Australian pop singer Kylie Minogue, which was released in November 2004.

Background

The double CD contains all the big hits of the singer and the two new Title I Believe in You and Giving You Up. In the UK, Ultimate Kylie sold so far over 770,000 in Germany and 150,000 times in Austria at least 15,000 times.

Minogue released in August 1992, a first official greatest hits album. Ultimate Kylie contains many singles from all of their nine studio albums, which she published with Stock Aitken Waterman, Deconstruction and Parlophone.

At the same time there appeared a DVD of the same title, which includes all the music videos listed on the CD singles, with the exception of Your Disco Needs You ( in the German version ) and Giving You Up.

Here is the German version of the album, as opposed to the international version, the song Your Disco Needs You, instead of the title Please Stay.

I Believe in You

As the first of two new songs on Ultimate Kylie I Believe in You was published on 6 December 2004 as a single. The piece took Minogue on along with Jake Shears and Baby Daddy of the Scissor Sisters. In the accompanying video Vernie Yeung directed. As a B-side was B.P.M. published a piece that already emerged during the recording of Body Language. I Believe in You became a European hit for Mingoue, who managed, among others, to No. 2 in the British charts. However, would the song without the simultaneously published Weihnachsthymne Do They Know It 's Christmas? by Band Aid 20, a safe number 1 for the singer in the UK have been. In the UK radio charts, the song did, however, for six weeks at No. 1 in the German single charts to I Believe in You was due to a sales boycott by Metro AG not to the front ranks of the charts place. So the Musikafachmärkte the company boycotted selling the single due to the fact that I Believe in You was released before the regular release date already for legal download.

Giving You Up

The second single Giving You Up, produced by Brian Higgins ( Xenomania ), was released on 28 March 2005. It contained the produced also by Xenomania Made of Glass, a B- side, which unofficially appeared in December 2004 on the Internet and file sharing was widespread. The video for Giving You Up descended from the French directors Alexandre Courtes and Martin Fougerole that operate under the name Alex & Martin and even videos of U2 and The White Stripes turned away.
